Automatic Tracking
Kshan tracks activity in the background — there's no start/stop timer to manage.
- The active window/app is checked every few seconds.
- When you switch app, window, or browser tab (title change), Kshan closes the previous session and opens a new one.
- Sessions are classified into categories automatically as they're recorded — see Categorization Rules.
- Completed sessions are rolled up into hourly summaries once the hour has fully elapsed; the current, still-in-progress hour is always computed live so your dashboard is never stale.

a work day, so a reader can see what "automatic tracking" actually produces.

Pausing tracking
Use the menu bar / system tray icon to pause tracking at any time — useful for meetings or screen-sharing where you don't want activity recorded.
