Focus Quality Score
The Focus Quality Score ($S_F$) summarizes how focused a period of time was, based on the mix of categories your tracked sessions fell into and how fragmented that time was.
- Calculated per day/week from your completed sessions and hourly aggregates.
- Every category you're tracked in is classified as Focus, Work, Neutral, or Distraction — see Categorization Rules for how to set this yourself. Focus/Work time contributes positively; Distraction time pulls the score down; Neutral is roughly weight-neutral.
- Frequent context-switching between apps lowers the score even if the total tracked time is the same, since fragmented attention is less productive than sustained blocks. Hover the daily timeline to see the exact context-switch count for any block of activity — see Activity Insights.
Use the dashboard trend chart to see how your score moves over time, and the daily timeline to see which specific sessions pulled it up or down.

note
Reclassifying a category only affects the score going forward — it doesn't retroactively recalculate scores for days that already completed before the change.
