Tasks on Dashboard & Reports

Scheduled tasks from your calendar show up in two more places, so you can see planned work without opening the calendar.

Dashboard: Today's Tasks

A Today's Tasks card lists everything scheduled for today, ordered by start time (unscheduled tasks sink to the end). The single most relevant task is badged:

  • Now — currently running
  • Up next — starts later today

Completed tasks show a green check with a strikethrough title and are never badged; a task whose time already passed without being marked done also gets no badge.

Reports: Tasks

A Tasks card lists every task block scheduled in the reported period (daily/weekly/monthly/ yearly), each prefixed with its date since a period can span multiple days, with a summary line like "5 planned · 3 completed."

note

Both cards are read-only — to complete, reschedule, or rename a task, do it from the Calendar view (or mark it done from the System Tray).

Importing tasks from other tools

If you've connected a task/project provider (Trello, GitHub, Asana, etc. — see Task Providers), the calendar's backlog sidebar has a source dropdown between the Backlog/Done filter and the quick-add field. Switching it from "Kshan tasks" to a connected provider shows that provider's live task list, which you can drag straight onto the calendar to import and schedule in one motion.

  • Dragging a not-yet-imported item creates and schedules it.
  • Dragging an already-imported ("linked") task creates an independent scheduled copy — the original stays in the backlog too.
  • This is read-only browsing: nothing is written back to the provider from here.
  • If the provider disconnects, or its live list fails to load (e.g. you're offline), the dropdown silently falls back to just your Kshan tasks.
